Why involve Propulsion Bound™ for your repair station and/or product oversight?
The oversight solutions we offer are in themselves "independent". The Propulsion Bound™ Team consists of Hazard Management individuals who survey activities from a different standpoint (a “birds eye view”). We are not influenced by possible factors that could otherwise influence someone involved within the activity or organization of the enterprise itself. We present the “data” as it is and leave the final decisions up to you.
Individuals involved are not directly disclosed except in the rare case of proven gross negligence, willful infraction or an unlawful act by the individual. Generally, we are looking at a systematic issue where those involved play a major role in implementing the long-term solution(s).
What are the benefits and advantages of having qualified representatives on site?
An SMS specialist on site provides the possibility to immediately alert for potential risks. If the outcome from acknowledging a potential risk terminates the need for further action, there is no risk of a negative event. If the potential risk is in fact a risk necessitating further action, it is brought to the attention of those responsible. Appropriate action can subsequently be taken to eliminate or mitigate the risk of a negative event.
What is the difference between a hazard and an occurrence?
A hazard is a situation that could potentially lead to a negative event if left alone, not acknowledged or addressed.
An occurrence is a negative event that has already taken place.
How do you know if a negative event has been prevented if it never happened?
Monitoring confidentially collected data of specific and individual client provides facts for trend analysis. These facts derived from our oversight that include auditing (e.g. Work In Progress Compliance audits), submitted hazard/occurrence reports, actions taken by the issue owner, follow up and sustainability review.
Trend analysis has repeatedly exposed the positive effects of hazard management undermining overall potential risks and negative events.
Why is hazard/occurrence report management offered to your customers? Isn't the airline or MRO responsible?
By completely managing our local oversight audits and submitted reports relative to the applicable repair station being surveyed, we offer a strictly confidential, unbiased feedback to all parties involved. Dealing with us for oversight and SMS functions offers a helping hand in meeting the airline’s or MRO’s SMS responsibilities.
Why should I be confident that my report meets the confidentiality expectations when it goes through the hands of a company that I don't even work for?
In addition to offering anonymous reporting solutions, we guarantee that any unnecessary personnel data is filtered and may only be seen by customer authorized Propulsion Bound™ and regulatory oversight personnel (Transport Canada, Federal Aviation Administration...). The only exception is in the case of proven gross negligence, willful infraction or of an unlawful act by an individual.
The data resides within Propulsion Bound’s™ environment, which conforms to strict confidentiality and security guidelines.
